Race Day Preview: JM Jhingree & Invincible Melody Head to Musselburgh
We send two runners to Musselburgh Racecourse today, both partnered by Rowan Scott, and we’re hopeful of a couple of encouraging performances.
JM Jhingree – 3:15 Musselburgh
JM Jhingree is a big, imposing horse who continues to be a work in progress at home. He’s not the easiest to fully assess on the gallops just yet, but we did learn more about him on his most recent outing.
He looked to need that run, shaping with some promise for a good portion of the race before just getting tired late on. With that experience now under his belt, we’re hoping to see a step forward today.
The smaller field should suit, and if he can travel well and finish in the first few, it would represent a positive step in the right direction and give us something solid to build on moving forward.
Invincible Melody – 5:00 Musselburgh
Invincible Melody drops in grade this afternoon, which could prove to be a key factor. This will be his first run at this level, and on paper, it looks a good opportunity for him.
His latest run was very much a fact-finding mission, as the team continues to learn more about him since being gelded. He’s been showing the right signs, and this race should give us a clearer picture of where he currently stands.
With conditions looking favourable and the drop in class a positive, he has plenty in his favour. We’re hopeful he can put in a strong performance and show what he’s capable of.
Final Thoughts
It’s very much a day for learning and progression with both runners, but there are reasons to be optimistic. If JM Jhingree can take a step forward and Invincible Melody can capitalise on the drop in grade, it could turn into a rewarding afternoon.
Best of luck to all connections involved.
