🏇 TWO RUNNERS OUT FOR EWAN WHILLANS — EYES ON HAMILTON NEXT!

It was a busy day for the Ewan Whillans Racing team as we sent two runners to Perth, both partnered by the experienced Craig Nichol. While conditions weren’t ideal, both horses put in respectable efforts and continue to give us plenty to look forward to.

🔥 Cracking Destiny – Solid Run Under Top Weight

First out was Cracking Destiny, who lined up in a competitive 2m4f handicap. A last-time-out winner off a mark of 116, he came into this race with confidence, and we're pleased to say he's now working his way down to a very attractive handicap mark.

The ground, however, was lightning quick—not quite to his liking. He typically thrives when there’s a bit of cut underfoot, and the conditions certainly made things tough. After breaking well and travelling nicely early, he began to get slightly outpaced when the race quickened. Despite that, he stuck on well under top weight, finishing just over 10 lengths behind the winner.

With softer ground and a more favourable mark, we’re confident we’ll see Cracking Destiny back to his best very soon—especially with his move to the Ewan Whillans Racing Club on the horizon. One to keep an eye on!

Borders Eagle – Valuable Experience on Second Start

Next up was Borders Eagle, who had his second run in a National Hunt Flat Race over 2 miles. These races are all about gaining experience, and he’s learning with every run.

He finished 4th of 5, beaten 14 lengths, but the result doesn’t tell the whole story. He travelled well in parts and continues to mature with each outing. A big, scopey type, he’s very much one for the future and will come into his own when sent jumping.

Looking Ahead – Back Tomorrow at Hamilton!

We’re straight back in action tomorrow with Back Tomorrow, who heads to Hamilton Park under top northern jockey Jason Hart.

She’s currently priced at 9/2 (at time of writing) and, while all her wins so far have come on the all-weather, her most recent effort at Ayr was a real eye-catcher. If she builds on that, we could well be seeing the red and grey colours back in the winner’s enclosure. Fingers crossed! 🤞
