Pair of Near Misses as the Team Keeps Rolling

It’s been a quieter week on the racing front, but we were pleased to send out two runners on the same card at Hexham on Saturday – and both delivered strong performances to finish second.

First up was Scots Poet in the 4.05pm under Conor O’Farrell. Following a solid placed effort last time out, he was well fancied in the market at 5/2. Held up at the rear early on, he made some eye-catching headway with three fences to go and looked a real danger as he moved into second. He challenged strongly on the run-in but just couldn’t get past the Sam England-trained winner. Still, it was a very creditable run and he continues to show real promise.

Next on the card was Blakey Boy, who returned after his impressive 33/1 win last time out. This time partnered by Craig Nichol, he was again held up towards the rear before making steady progress throughout the race. He stayed on well in the closing stages and, but for a few untidy jumps, might have pushed even closer for the win. Another excellent effort to finish second and a testament to his consistency.

So, two runners and two seconds from Saturday – a solid day’s work and a sign that the yard remains in fantastic form.

Looking ahead, Zephlyn is declared to run on Monday, and we have a few more entries lined up for Thursday and Friday. Be sure to follow our social channels for the latest updates from the yard.

Thanks, as always, for your continued support.
