Bourbon Girl Set for Bangor Test

We send Bourbon Girl to Bangor this afternoon for the 5.20, representing Ewan Whillans Racing, with Conor O’Farrell in the saddle for owners Distillery Stud.

Encouragement can be taken from her most recent outing, with the form of that race working out particularly well since. While she isn’t one to show a great deal at home, she is very much a mare who saves her best for the racecourse — something we’ve come to understand and appreciate about her.

She enjoyed a solid piece of work at Kelso a few weeks ago, which left the team pleased, and we’re hopeful that she can build on that effort today. If things fall into place, there’s every chance she can take a step forward and show exactly what she’s capable of.

Bangor provides a good opportunity for her, and we’re looking forward to seeing how she gets on in what should be a competitive contest.
