Kelso Runner Update
We have one runner representing us today — Captain Cognac in the 4.45 at Kelso.
He’s very much his own character and hasn’t been the easiest horse to figure out, but we’re pleased with the progress he’s been making at home. It’s taken a bit of time and patience, however we do feel he’s now moving in the right direction and beginning to put things together.
He showed signs of greenness on his last outing, so we’ve given him a short break since then to allow him to strengthen and mature. He returns today feeling fresh and well, and we’re hopeful that experience will stand him in good stead.
The ground is a bit of an unknown for him, but he’s in good order and will be ridden to give himself every chance of running well. If he can finish in the first four or five, that would represent solid progress and give us something positive to build on as we look ahead to the rest of his campaign.
Best of luck to all connections and to everyone attending today — we hope you have a great afternoon’s racing.
