Musselburgh Double: Dublinofficecallin & Star Of Guiting Preview

We head to Musselburgh this afternoon with two runners representing the yard, both partnered by Craig Nichol.

First up is Dublinofficecallin in the 2:20. He didn’t do himself any favours last time out, where things didn’t quite go to plan during the race. However, he’s been showing much more encouraging signs at home since then and seems in good form heading into today. Conditions should be more in his favour this time, with better ground expected, and we’re hopeful that if things fall right for him, he can settle into a rhythm and start picking off horses in the closing stages. A cleaner run should see him much more competitive.

Later on the card, Star Of Guiting lines up in the 3:22, taking his chance in the Go North Sea Pigeon Final. He arrives here on the back of a solid effort in the Imperial Cup, where he ran with plenty of credit against strong opposition. He’s continued to please at home since, and today’s track and trip look well suited to his running style.

The only slight concern is whether this race has come a little soon after his last outing, but he’s in great order and deserves to take his chance in a race of this nature. If he runs to the level we know he’s capable of, he should give another good account of himself.

Best of luck to all connections involved — let’s hope for a positive afternoon at Musselburgh.
