Newcastle Double Header for Ewan Whillans Racing

We’re back in action today with two runners on the Newcastle card for Ewan Whillans Racing, and both head to the track with solid chances in competitive contests.

6.50 – Pinpoint

Pinpoint goes to post in the 6.50, with Greg Fairley taking the ride. He was entitled to need the run last time out after a short break, and that outing should have brought him on nicely. We’ve been pleased with how he’s been working at home since, and he appears to be in good order coming into this race.

While this isn’t a big field, it’s certainly a competitive one, and he’ll need to step forward on what we saw last time. We’d like to see a clear improvement today, and a midfield finish or better would be a positive step in the right direction as he continues to build fitness.

7.20 – Ramon Di Loria

Our second runner is the ever-consistent Ramon Di Loria, who lines up in the 7.20 at Newcastle with Jason Hart back on board. He rarely runs a bad race and has been doing us proud on the all-weather, picking up valuable points in the All-Weather Bonus Scheme along the way.

There looks to be a good amount of pace drawn close to us, which should suit Ramon’s running style. The plan will be to go forward with the pace, get into a nice rhythm, and allow him to finish strongly in the closing stages, as he so often does

We’d like to wish the best of luck to everyone attending today, and to those travelling in what are very challenging weather conditions. Please stay safe, and thank you as always for your continued support of Ewan Whillans Racing.
