Race Day Preview: Kelso Trio Ready to Go

We head to Kelso this afternoon with three runners on the card, each bringing their own story and level of expectation as we look forward to a competitive day’s racing.

3:37 Kelso – Georgie’s Malt
J: Callum Bewley | O: Distillery Racing Club

Georgie’s Malt comes into this in good order, having shown plenty of promise at home. His latest run can be marked up slightly, as he travelled a little lazily and perhaps didn’t show his full ability on the day. With that experience behind him, and now beginning to come down the handicap, conditions look much more in his favour this time around. We’re hopeful he can take a step forward and build on that last effort with a more positive showing.

5:22 Kelso – Scots Poet
J: Conor O’Farrell | O: Ewan Whillans Racing Club

Scots Poet returns in good form and heads into this contest with plenty to like about his chances. He’s been working well at home and we feel this track could suit his style of racing. There appears to be a lot in his favour today, although as always with him, a strong pace will be key to bring his strengths into play. If things fall right, he should be staying on well and can certainly be thereabouts at the finish.

5:57 Kelso – Koa Beau
J: Danny McMenamin | O: Racing On Together Club

Koa Beau is still very much a work in progress. He was quite a nervy individual when he first arrived, but has been settling in well and showing ability at home. This looks a tough enough assignment on paper, but today is not about the end result. Instead, we’re looking to learn more about him on the track and get a clearer idea of where we stand. He’s one for the future, and we’re hopeful he can show enough promise here to build on as we go forward.

All three head to Kelso in good health, and we look forward to seeing how they perform. As always, best of luck to all connections and everyone involved.
