Runners Today – Musselburgh & Hexham

We’re back on the track today with two runners: Stand Strong in the 4.00 at Musselburgh, ridden by Rhys Elliott, and Cracking Destiny in the 7.15 at Hexham with Craig Nichol on board. Both arrive as last-time-out winners, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they go.

Stand Strong

We wouldn’t mind a little bit of rain for him, but the ground should still play to his strengths. Stepping up in trip last time out worked perfectly, as he stayed on well to win by over two lengths. With Aidan away at Catterick, Rhys takes the ride today – he’s been in terrific form recently and his 5lb claim is a big help. The horse has been training well at home and holding his form nicely between races. This race has been a target for some time, and with only a small field, the plan will be to sit in mid-division and come with a run late on. You could make a case for all the runners here, but we’re hopeful he shows his usual determination and runs his race.

Cracking Destiny

A real stable favourite and superstar, he owes us nothing. He hasn’t been seen since his win here at Hexham last time, as at this stage of his career we like to space out his races and keep him fresh. He’s been in good order at home and is ready to go again. Craig knows him well and will look to be positive early, as Cracking Destiny often needs a little encouragement to find his rhythm, but once he does he travels strongly. With a clear round, we’d love to see him right there at the last, fighting it out.

Best of luck to all connections today – and as always, keep up to date with us on social media. With the jumps racing now back in full swing, it’s sure to be a busy spell ahead!
