One runner at Newcastle
This evening we’re back in action at Newcastle with Back Tomorrow, who lines up in the 7.30 with Rowan Scott on board.
Her last run is one we can put a line through. She can sometimes be a little slow away from the stalls, but on that occasion she was simply far too slow and the race was over before it began. Since then, we’ve done plenty of work at home to sharpen her up at the gates, and we head to the track with a bit more confidence this time around.
The plan will be to have her tucked in just behind the leaders, where she should be able to get into a nice rhythm. Although we originally thought a turning track might suit her best, the stiff finish here at Newcastle could play to her strengths. If they go a good gallop up front, we’d like to see her settle and then finish strongly, hopefully passing a few in the closing stages.
The aim is for her to be competitive tonight and show the ability we know she has.
Good luck to all connections, and here’s hoping Back Tomorrow can bounce back to form!
