Today’s Three Runners at Ayr

Ayr Runners Preview

We head to Ayr today with three runners on the card, each bringing their own story and expectations as we look for a positive afternoon.

ROYAL BLAZE
3:30 Ayr | Jockey: David Nolan
Royal Blaze makes his return to the track and is very much one to build on as the season progresses. He is likely to improve for this first outing, both in terms of fitness and sharpness. Ideally, he would appreciate a bit more cut in the ground, which would help him show his best. With a long campaign ahead, today is very much a starting point, and we’re hopeful he can take a nice step forward from the run.

MILLBUIE
3:30 Ayr | Jockey: William Pyle
Millbuie wasn’t quite himself last time out, so we’ve taken the decision to ease off him slightly and give him the chance to freshen up. Conditions will be key—he wouldn’t want the ground to be too quick—and if things fall into place, we know he has the ability to be competitive. He’s been a little frustrating of late, but his work at home continues to suggest there’s ability there, so we’re hoping he can translate that to the track today and put his best foot forward.

EBONY MAW
5:00 Ayr | Jockey: William Pyle
Ebony Maw comes into this in good order and has been showing plenty of encouragement at home. He ran a solid race last time and, notably, is a previous course-and-distance winner here at Ayr, which always gives added confidence. Ground conditions again will be important, as he wouldn’t want it too quick, but if everything goes to plan and he reproduces his best form, he should be firmly in the mix.

A competitive day ahead, but with a bit of luck on conditions, all three have reasons to run well.
