Millbuie Returns to Action
Millbuie heads back to the racecourse today for the Ewan Whillans stable, and he's a horse we've had to be patient with while trying to unlock his full potential.
Over the past couple of seasons, we've experimented with different trips to find what suits him best, and it hasn't always been a straightforward journey. However, his most recent run was arguably the best performance of his career and gave us plenty of encouragement going forward.
Since undergoing wind surgery last year, he has gradually begun to show signs of real progress. Not only has he been improving physically, but he's also becoming much more consistent in his performances, which is something we've been pleased to see both on the racecourse and at home.
He's been working well at home in the lead-up to today's race, and everything suggests he's in good order. Regular rider Greg knows him inside out, which is always a positive, and we're hopeful that their partnership can continue to bring the best out of him.
If Millbuie can reproduce the level of form he showed last time out and continue the consistency he's been building, we'd like to think he has every chance of being competitive and finishing close. We're looking forward to seeing how he gets on and hope he can take another step forward.
