Three Runners at Ayr This Afternoon

We send out three runners to Ayr today, each with different chances their respective races and plenty to look forward to across the card.

3:50 – Millbuie
Millbuie is first up for us and will wear a first-time tongue tie this afternoon, which we hope can help him find a bit more at the finish. Things didn’t quite go his way last time out, with the race not really run to suit, so we’re happy to put a line through that effort. Prior to that, he had been showing some consistent form, and we feel he’s in good order heading into today. The ground should hold no concerns, and tactically he’s versatile — likely to either go forward and make the running or sit just behind the leaders. If he can get into a good rhythm early, we’re hopeful he can get back to showing his true ability and be very competitive.

4:25 – Mr Whittington
Mr Whittington is still a relatively new addition to the yard, but we’ve been very pleased with how he has settled in. He’s taken everything in his stride at home, and his work has been encouraging in the lead-up to this race. Importantly, he does have previous experience at Ayr, which can often count for plenty around this track. This looks a competitive contest on paper, so expectations are measured, but we’re hoping for a solid, honest run. If he can be involved towards the finish and hit the frame, it would be a very positive step forward and give us plenty of insight into how best to place him going forward.

5:35 – Ramon Di Loria
Ramon Di Loria returns to the track after a very pleasing run the other day, where he shaped as though another win may not be far away. He’s come out of that race in great condition, which has allowed us to bring him back relatively quickly. Ayr should suit him well, particularly over this slightly longer trip, which we feel will play to his strengths. He’s a horse who benefits greatly from a strong, honest pace to aim at, so how the race unfolds will be key. If they go a good gallop and he can settle into his rhythm, we’re hopeful he can finish strongly and put in another big performance.

Three runners heading to Ayr, each with their own chance on the day, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they all get on.
