Hamilton Double: Pinpoint and Ebony Maw in Action

We head to Hamilton today with two runners representing Ewan Whillans Racing: Pinpoint and Ebony Maw,

2:20 – Pinpoint

Pinpoint returns quickly after a run at the weekend where things just didn’t fall into place. He didn’t get the clearest of passages through, and while it was a hot race for the grade, it was still a disappointing effort. We know by now that everything needs to go right for him, but he’s back at a track he knows well—having won over course and distance—with Shane Gray reunited in the saddle. We’re hopeful he can bounce back and sneak a place; anything beyond that would be a bonus.

4:55 – Ebony Maw (pictured below)

Ebony Maw lines up in the finale with PJ McDonald taking the ride. He ran a cracker last week at Ayr, just bumping into a couple of well-handicapped rivals on the day. While he clearly loves it at Ayr, he’s also posted solid efforts here at Hamilton. He sports cheekpieces this afternoon, and we’re hoping the ground doesn’t dry out too much by the last race. If things fall right, he should be right in the mix and we’d love to see him hit the frame.
