Billy Bathgate Set for Competitive Test at Southwell

11:30 – Southwell

Jockey: Mr. Eireann Cagney

We head to Southwell this morning with Billy Bathgate, who takes his chance in what looks a competitive contest on paper. Although his most recent run left us a touch disappointed, it’s important to remember just how consistent and honest he has been for us throughout the season. He truly owes us nothing, having already delivered some tremendous performances and shown great heart in his races.

At home, Billy has been training with his usual enthusiasm. The team is very happy with how he’s been moving, and he appears in great order heading into today’s assignment.

The key to bringing out his best will be a good, solid gallop to aim at. When the race sets up right for him, he’s a horse who can travel strongly and stay on with real purpose. We’re hopeful that the pace will suit and that he can put his best foot forward once again.

We wish Mr. Eireann Cagney the very best aboard, and we’re looking forward to seeing Billy run another genuine race for connections.
