Busy Day Ahead at Hexham and Newcastle

We’re back in action today with three runners heading to the races — one at Hexham and two up at Newcastle.

Lizzie Luna – 2:45 Hexham

Jockey: Sean Quinlan

Lizzie Luna makes her second start of the season today. She needed her first run back, and she may just come on for the experience again this afternoon. She’s a buzzy type who we’re hoping to see travel and jump well around Hexham.

She’ll be dropped in early to help her settle and find her rhythm. Over time, she looks the sort who may appreciate a step up in trip, but today’s race will give us a good gauge of where we are with her. We’re looking for a solid, settled run and another bit of experience under her belt.

Ramon Di Loria – 5:00 Newcastle

Jockey: Aiden Brookes (3lb claim)

Ramon Di Loria takes a step up in grade today, but with Aiden’s handy 3lb claim, he should be nicely weighted. He’s been a grand servant for us this year, winning three races already, and truly owes us nothing.

There’s not much pace on paper, and although he’s often better suited to the minimum trip, we might try something a little different today and let him make the running. It’ll be interesting to see how he handles that approach over the six furlongs — he’s in great form at home and goes there to take his chance.

Showmethewayhome – 5:00 Newcastle

Jockey: Aiden Brookes

Our second runner in the 5:00 is Showmethewayhome, who we’re hoping can show a bit more today. The main focus will be on getting her to settle early and finish off her race strongly.

The trip might not be ideal, but there aren’t too many suitable options for her at the moment. She’ll be dropped in and ridden for a late run. We’d like to see her finish off well and give us something to build on — if not, we may look at other options going forward.

Best of luck to all connections and everyone heading racing today. Let’s hope for some positive results and safe runs all round! 🍀
