Doncaster Duty: Topkapi Star Heads the Whillans Team Today

We send just the one runner out today, as Topkapi Star represents the yard in the 2:33 at Doncaster, and we’re looking forward to seeing her take her chance.

She has been in excellent form at home, pleasing everyone with the way she’s been going about her work. Returning to a fillies-only race should suit her well, and conditions look to be in her favour – track, trip, and going all appear spot on for what she needs.

We fit the tongue tie for the first time, a small adjustment we feel could just help her finish off her race that little bit stronger. It’s a competitive field, with a couple of well-fancied rivals in the betting, but Topkapi Star goes there in great order and certainly won’t be out of place if things fall right.

We’re hopeful she can be right in the mix turning for home and show everyone what she’s capable of. As ever, racing doesn’t hand out anything easily, but she arrives with plenty in her favour and we’re excited to see her take her chance.
