Two Runners for the Yard at Newcastle Today
We head to Newcastle with two runners this afternoon, and both horses are in good order at home. We’re hopeful they can give a good account of themselves.
12:45 – Glenville
Jockey: Peter Kavanagh
Glenville returns following a solid comeback run, and we feel he has definitely come on for that effort. He had a little injury setback during the summer, but it’s pleasing to see him back in good shape and showing the sort of form at home that we expect from him.
It’s always hard to judge a maiden—there can be one or two unexposed types in there—but Glenville is pleasing us in his work and should be competitive if everything falls right. Peter Kavanagh takes the ride and knows what we’re hoping to see from him today.
2:15 – Blakey Boy
Jockey: Craig Nichol
Blakey Boy lines up in a competitive four-runner contest, and we’re looking for a clean round after his fall last time out. He had been travelling strongly on the day, so it was frustrating, but he’s come out of it well and has been going nicely at home since.
Craig Nichol is back on board, and he knows the horse very well. If Blakey Boy can get into a rhythm and jump the way we know he can, we’d like to think he can be right there towards the finish.
Thanks as always to the team for their hard work, and best of luck to both horses and jockeys this afternoon. Let’s hope for two positive runs.
