Ebony Maw Returns at Catterick

Ebony Maw makes his return to action at Catterick today following a break since November. It’s been a patient approach with him over the winter months, allowing him the time he needed, and we’ve recently had him away for a few days to help build his fitness back up.

He’s a big, imposing horse who is still developing, and there’s a feeling he’s starting to come onto a very workable mark now. Today will very much be about getting him back on track and blowing away the cobwebs after his time off, so he’s expected to improve for the outing.

That said, we’re pleased with how he’s been moving and his attitude at home has been encouraging. While he may just need this run to bring him fully to peak fitness, it’s a positive starting point for what we hope will be a productive spell ahead.

Looking further ahead, Ebony Maw is a horse we feel could have an enjoyable and progressive summer once everything clicks into place. Today is the first step back, and we’re looking forward to seeing him build from here.
