Friday Runner Update – Ewan Whillans Racing

We send out two runners today, both looking to give a good account of themselves.

2.40 Newcastle – STAND STRONG

Jockey: Aidan Brookes

This is a new trip for Stand Strong, but he handles the all-weather surface well. Things didn’t go his way last time at Ayr where he had no luck in running, so the plan today is to keep things simple. It’s a competitive race for the grade, but with a small field we’ll look to have him sit handy. He’s not the type to do much once he hits the front, so we’ll need the race to unfold just right—but if it does, we’re hopeful he’ll run well.

5.37 Musselburgh – BILLY BATHGATE (pictured below)

Jockey: David Nolan

Billy enjoyed a short break after his last run and is in good form at home—both in his work and appearance. He might just need this outing to sharpen up, but he’s got enough ability that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him run into a place. If he does, it’ll be a great platform to build on going forward.

Best of luck to all connections involved today. Thank you for your continued support—and don’t forget to follow our website and social channels for live updates throughout the day.
