Newcastle Test for Showmethewayhome

We have just the one runner on today for Ewan Whillans Racing, with Showmethewayhome lining up in the 6.00 at Newcastle, ridden by Greg Fairley.

There’s no hiding from the fact that today is very much last chance saloon for Showmethewayhome. She’s been given every possible opportunity to show what she can do, and connections have worked tirelessly to help her find her feet. This evening, she needs to show us something on the track.

She faces a competitive field, so we’re realistic rather than optimistic. We’re not expecting her to go out and win, but what we do want to see is clear improvement on her recent runs. Finishing in the first four or five, beating a few rivals home and showing genuine progression would be a big step in the right direction and enough to suggest she can still make her mark as a racehorse.

Confidence may be limited, but hope remains. If she’s unable to show the required improvement tonight, then the decision will be made to find her a loving and suitable forever home away from racing, where her wellbeing will always come first.

Whatever the outcome, we wish Showmethewayhome, Greg, and all connections the very best of luck this evening.
