Today’s Runners for Ewan Whillans Racing

We head to Carlisle today with two runners. First up is Ramon Di Loria in the 3.30, with Jason Hart on board. He drops back to five furlongs, but it’s a stiff test which should suit him. It’s been a while since he’s run in this grade — the last time he did, he won — so hopefully he can be competitive again. Jason knows him well, so we’ll leave it in his hands to find where Ramon is happiest. If he can finish in the first four, I’d be very pleased, and anything better would be a real bonus.

Later on, in the 5.37, we run Sure And Steadfast with Rowan Scott taking the ride. He was a little disappointing last time, but possibly a few hard runs in quick succession caught up with him. He’s had a short break since then, has a good draw today, and has been going nicely at home. The plan is to have him sit in behind the leaders and look to come with a late run — hopefully, he can produce a big performance.
