Star of Guiting heads to Sandown for the 2.27 and arrives in excellent form at home. He’s been in great fettle on the gallops and has been pleasing the team in the lead-up to this run.

The one uncertainty today is the ground. Some rain arrived that wasn’t forecast, which has made conditions a bit of an unknown and is the main concern going into the race. If he handles the surface well, we’re hopeful he can run a solid race and show what he’s capable of.

If the ground proves not to be to his liking, we won’t be hard on him and will simply look after him and keep him for another day when conditions suit better. Either way, today should tell us a lot more about him and help us understand what ground and conditions bring out the best in him.
