Sure And Steadfast Lines Up at Nottingham
This afternoon sees Sure And Steadfast take his place in the 4:35 at Nottingham, representing the yard of Ewan Whillans Racing
He lines up in what is a valuable and competitive contest, and while he runs a few pounds out of the handicap, he comes here in good spirits after his victory last time out. That win was well deserved, and it has done his confidence the world of good. At home he’s been showing the right signs since, moving well in his work and giving us every reason to let him take his chance in this stronger company.
We’re realistic in our expectations – today is very much a test, and we’re hopeful rather than confident – but we do feel there’s still more to come from him as he matures and steps up in trip. Nottingham should play to his strengths: the track and ground both look ideal, and with the race conditions suiting, it will be fascinating to see how he measures up.
The main hope today is for him to run a big race, ideally grabbing a place and coming out of it well. Looking ahead, we believe his future lies over further distances next season, where his stamina should really shine through.
Whatever the outcome, this is another step forward in his development, and we’re excited to see him progress.
Good luck to all connections and to everyone making the trip to Nottingham today – let’s hope Sure And Steadfast gives us another reason to cheer.
