Three Runners on the Track Today for Ewan Whillans Racing
We’re back in action today with three runners across Newcastle and Southwell, and we’re hopeful of a few encouraging performances as the horses continue their progress through the season.
🐎 MILLBUIE
3.55 Newcastle
Jockey: Jason Hart
Millbuie returns to the track today for his first run following a recent wind operation. He’s done a nice piece of work at home since and has been pleasing in himself, but as is often the case after a procedure like this, he should come on plenty for the run.
Today is very much about getting him back into the rhythm of racing, building confidence, and hopefully allowing him to realise he can now breathe properly under pressure. If he can travel comfortably and finish off his race in a positive manner, we’ll be delighted and optimistic about what lies ahead.
🐎 ZEPHLYN
4.00 Southwell
Jockey: Greg Fairley
There haven’t been many suitable opportunities for Zephlyn recently, so we’ve decided to give him a run here even though the trip may be on the sharp side for him. He’s a horse who takes a lot of work to keep fit, and we felt it was important to get another run into him rather than waiting too long between races.
This should help move him forward nicely fitness-wise, and while conditions might not be absolutely ideal, we’re hoping he can run a solid race and take plenty of benefit from the outing.
🐎 BACK TOMORROW
5.40 Southwell
Jockey: Greg Fairley
Back Tomorrow showed much more last time out and arrives here in better heart following that improved performance. He steps into a handicap today rather than a classified race, and although it’s a competitive contest, it doesn’t look an overly strong one on paper.
A good break from the stalls will be important, but if he can get into a nice rhythm early, we’re hopeful he can run a decent race and continue on the upward curve we saw last time.
Best of luck to all our connections today, and fingers crossed for three positive runs as we continue to build momentum through the season.
