Two Runners Head to Catterick Today for Ewan Whillans Racing
We have a busy and exciting afternoon ahead at Catterick with two runners lining up for the yard, and both horses go there with plenty of interest.
3.20 Catterick – SCOTS POET
Jockey: Conor O’Farrell
Scots Poet returns to hurdles this afternoon and has been pleasing us at home in recent weeks. He’s been in good nick on the gallops and is showing plenty of enthusiasm in his work. With a bit more experience now and getting slightly longer in the tooth, we’ve decided to fit blinkers today, which have had a very positive effect on him at home – sharpening him up and helping him focus well.
If he travels and jumps as we know he can and puts his best foot forward, there’s every reason to be optimistic about a bold showing. We’re hopeful he can run a very competitive race.
3.50 Catterick – MISCHIEF MILLIE
Jockey: Craig Nichol
Mischief Millie heads to the track for her first day at school, and today is very much about education and experience. She’s had a few away days to give her a look around and has taken everything in her stride, showing a good attitude throughout.
The main aim this afternoon is for her to have a safe, confident round of jumping and come home having learned plenty. She’s a likeable mare with a great mindset, and anything she achieves today will be something she can build on going forward.
We’d like to wish the very best of luck to all the owners, connections, and everyone making the trip to Catterick today. Fingers crossed for a positive afternoon for the team.
