Three Runners Represent Us Today at Kelso and Southwell
We have a busy day ahead with three runners flying the flag across Kelso and Southwell, and all three head into their respective contests with reasons for optimism.
GEORGIE’S MALT
3:10 – Kelso
Jockey: Callum Bewley
Georgie’s Malt returns to action after not quite seeing out the test last time, where the track and particularly the uphill finish didn’t play to his strengths. Conditions on that occasion didn’t suit, and connections are keen to draw a line through the run. He will be ridden with a different approach today, likely settled in behind runners to help him conserve energy. There is a slight question mark regarding the trip, but if he relaxes early and travels kindly, he has the ability to get involved.
BUDWORTH BOY
5:20 – Kelso
Jockey: Peter Kavanagh
Budworth Boy is a horse we continue to hold in high regard. Still learning his craft, he has gained valuable experience from a handful of runs and is expected to keep progressing with time. A big, scopey individual, he should strengthen further as his career develops. Today’s outing will serve as another important step in that journey, and we’re hopeful he can run a solid race and show further signs of promise.
ZEPHLYN
7:48 – Southwell
Jockey: Jason Hart
Zephlyn looks to hold strong claims based on his recent form, which is working out particularly well. A return to this trip is expected to suit, and he arrives in good order at home. Importantly, he is a proven course-and-distance winner, which is always a positive around Southwell. If things fall his way, there’s every chance he can be competitive and go close.
