Two Runners at Hamilton This Evening

We head to Hamilton tonight with two runners — Millbuie in the 8:10 (ridden by David Allan) and Royal Blaze in the 8:40 (ridden by Paul Mulrennan).

Millbuie steps up in trip this evening. David Allan suggested moving him up to two miles after his last run, but with no suitable 2m races on the right ground, we’ve opted for a stiff mile and a half instead. It’s a competitive race for the grade. Millbuie has always shown plenty of ability at home, but we’ve yet to see that fully translate to the track — hopefully tonight he can put it all together.

Royal Blaze returns quickly after his impressive win at the weekend. Paul Mulrennan takes over in the saddle, and we’re hoping he can follow up on that success. This is a more competitive contest, but conditions look to be in his favour, and we’d like to see him justify his position at the head of the market.
