A Step Away from Racing – Rachel’s Story and a Call to Support Team Scotland
At Ewan Whillans Racing, our day-to-day lives revolve around the thrill of the racetrack, but today we’re taking a small step away from the sport we love—for a cause that truly deserves your attention.
We’re proud to support Rachel, a valued member of our extended community, who will be representing Scotland as part of the Over 40s Ladies Hockey Squad at the Masters European Championships in Valencia this June.
This is a moment of national pride for Rachel and her teammates—but also a real challenge. The squad is entirely self-funded, which means they must personally cover the costs of flights, accommodation, pitch hire, tournament fees, and kit. Many of these dedicated women are even taking unpaid leave from work just to pursue this dream of wearing the Scotland shirt on the European stage.
They Need Our Help
Sport should never be limited by cost. Rachel and her teammates are showing what passion, perseverance, and teamwork can achieve. But to get to Valencia, they need a little help.
Whether you’re part of the racing family or just someone who admires hard work and ambition, we’re asking you to consider donating whatever you can. Every pound makes a difference and brings these women one step closer to representing Scotland with pride.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about hockey. It’s about showing that dreams don’t expire with age, that women’s sport matters at every level, and that representing your country should be something to celebrate—not stress over.
Follow Their Journey
Rachel and the squad will be keeping us updated as they prepare for the tournament. Your support—financial or simply sharing their story—means more than you know.
